Vibram Adds 2 New Designs to the FiveFingers Lineup (with Photos)

Vibram FiveFingers has added two (technically three) new models to their FiveFingers lineup.

The KSO Trek will be a thicker-soled version of the KSO, intended for trail running.  The thicker sole will provide more protection on rough surfaces.  It will be available in brown and black and will retail for $125 USD.

The Moc and Performa, a men’s and women’s shoe respectively, will be an indoor shoe with a soft leather enclosure and an even more minimal sole.  The Moc will be available in blue and black.  The Performa will be available in coral, violet, and black.  The Moc and Performa will retail for $110 USD.

All three will be available this fall.  The pictures and information were kindly supplied by Michael Martin, National Sales Manager for Vibram USA.  Listen to our podcast to hear an interview with Mr. Martin.  He speaks about these shoes as well as the evolution of the FiveFingers brand.  The interview is full of great information, as well as answers to questions submitted by our audience.

About Living Barefoot Reviews:

As you read our reviews, please keep in mind that our reviewers review shoes in terms of their suitability for those looking to find the highest quality minimalist shoe products. All reviews are as factual as possible. In an effort to be transparent and ethical, we will point out any defects found, even if these do not affect the usability of the product. Not all defects will be present in final production shoes as we are sometimes offered “seconds” or pre-release products in an effort to provide you with reviews in a timely manor. In the event that serious issues are found with a review sample we will give every opportunity for the manufacturer to replace to explain the review samples before the final review is released. We never accept payments for reviews. We do not guarantee a good review for any products sent to us. We do not review products that do not claim to be minimalist or “barefoot like” unless we receive a significant number of requests from readers or listeners.

  1. I love my 5 fingers I have, but the new pair I have, The Flow , after 2 days I realize how it was digging into my achiles. Unfortunately I worn them out abt the streets of NY and it’s no longer resellable. What else can I do, put my own foam padding in the back?

  2. Hi Akwesi,
I would suggesting contacting Vibram and seeing what they have to recommend. They may have a solution for you.

  3. Hi Akwesi,
I have a pair of Flows and noticed that when I don’t wear socks, the back can dig into my achilles a bit, too. With socks, I don’t feel it at all. Have you tried wearing socks with them? If you have and they still dig, my advice would also be to contact Vibram.

  4. Al/Tina, thank you both for your reply. I will let Vibram know as well, but one thing I did was add tape to the back of my flows and I was fine on the short walk/runs made. When I 1st wore my flows I took them on a two day hike of Manhattan, no, I didn’t quite ease into them. I have to admit I looking for the kso Treks next. All the best.
