Living Barefoot Show – We Interview Dr. Michael Nirenberg

The Living Barefoot Show Episode 14 – We Interview Podiatrist Dr. Michael Nirenberg
Those of us who have found freedom from our shoes, or at least shoes that provide more freedom are passionate about our views and experiences. We feel that we have rediscovered the obvious solution to so many problems, and they have been right in front of us, or perhaps right below us, all this time.
We are however still the minority, and while the public is rapidly accepting barefoot activities and barefoot running in particular, the medical community is slow to adjust.
Thankfully Dr. Nirenberg is leading the trend boldly where few podiatrists have walked before.
He has been featured on radio, magazines and newspapers. He’s even been on the History Channel and Fox News.
He is one of only a handful of forensic podiatrists in the world. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Forensic Podiatry, and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Indiana Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Forensic Examiners, and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
He is no stranger to writing, having won awards for papers published, and appearing in more magazines and journals than I can list here. And of course there is his Blog, America’s Podiatrist – a well written and informative blog for lay-people and professionals alike.

Barefoot running has been such wonderful and freeing experiences for me. It took time for my feet to get used to it though. I had to be very patient and had to break my feet in slowly. A book that encouraged me to take on barefoot running is Born to Run. It’s great stuff to read. http://barefootrunningshoes.org/born-to-run-amazon-and-editorial-reviews/
