Charlie Young Turns 47; Her Twin Sons, 4, Accidentally Spoil Birthday Surprise They & Their Father Had Planned
The actress posted a rare family photo and had netizens gushing over her ageless beauty.
However, she still managed to enjoy a sweet and memorable celebration, courtesy of her husband, Singaporean Khoo Shao Tze, and their four-year-old twin sons, Aloysius and Ignatius.
On Tuesday (May 25), Charlie took to Facebook to share an amusing story about what happened around the time of her birthday. She also uploaded a rare photo of the entire family-of-four, albeit with stickers over her boys’ eyes to protect their privacy.
In her post, Charlie revealed that Shao Tze, Aloysius, and Ignatius had been discussing the surprise they wanted to give her on her birthday, but the two boys accidentally spilled the beans the night before by telling her, “Mama, we have a secret! But we can’t tell you…”, complete with their fingers over their mouths in a “shhh” gesture.
“At that moment, there was a man sweating bullets next to me,” Charlie quipped, referring to her husband.
The surprise turned out to be a bouquet of flowers and a purple dress with a floral pattern that matches the bouquet (strangely, Charlie did not post any photos of them, though).
Apparently, Shao Tze had tried to convince the boys to select a white dress instead, which Charlie would be more likely to wear, but they insisted on the purple one and chose the matching bouquet as well.
They might have been on to something, though. Charlie later added in a hashtag: “Yes, the kids know that I like the colour purple.”
“I really never expected my two four-year-old sons to give me a dress as a birthday present. Whether I can wear it or not is no longer the point. I will carefully keep this precious gift,” she gushed, before thanking everyone for their well-wishes. “Although I didn’t have any special birthday celebrations for the past two years, I am full of warmth, and that is enough.”
In other related news, Charlie’s bare face in the latest family photo had netizens fawning over her “impossible” beauty.
“She is still the Zhu Yingtai from my memory,” said one, referring to Charlie’s character in the 1994 film The Lovers.
Other comments include: “A goddess forever”, “You are really way too beautiful”, and “She’s still so beautiful even after giving birth to twins”.
