Chinese Actress Li Mingqi, AKA My Fair Princess’ ‘Rong Mo Mo’, Was Quite The Beauty When She Was Young
Chinese veteran actress Li Mingqi, 86, is best known for playing the cruel 'Rong Mo Mo' in the immensely popular 1998 palace drama My Fair Princess.
Her character, who was often seen torturing Vicki Zhao and Ruby Lin in the drama, was a source of nightmares for many kids who grew up in that era.
Her memorable performance made her a household name in China, and Mingqi would go on to say that the role caused her quite a bit of trouble in real life as audiences could not differentiate who she is in real life from the insidious character.
Although she has taken a break from acting — her last onscreen appearance was in Chinese drama Jiang Hu Jing Shi (2016) — many fans who have been lucky enough to bump into Mingqi, say she's very personable, and a complete opposite from Rong Mo Mo.

Mingqi, who has also appeared in other classic dramas, including The Water Margin (1996) and The Return of the Condor Heroes (2006), was recently announced as the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the second Aollywood International TV Series Festival.
After the win, the actress found herself a trending topic after netizens dug out photos from her youth.
In one of the photos, Mingqi could be seen sporting braids and looking very doll-like.
In another, she looked fresh-faced in her short hairdo.
These photos serve as a reminder of how beautiful Mingqi was back in the day, and many netizens couldn't help but shower praise on the actress.
Mingqi spends time with her granddaughter while on hiatus
After winning her award, Mingqi also said that she was “still young” and had every intention to continue her showbiz career.
According to Chinese media, Mingqi has a son, Wang Jun, who is a professor at a law school.
Two years ago, Mingqi’s granddaughter took to social media to share a couple of selfies she snapped while hanging out with her grandmother, who looked extremely happy and spritely.
