Elvin Ng’s SA2021 ‘Bandung’ Suit Makes A Comeback On Chinese Singer Hua Chenyu At The Mid-Autumn Festival Concert
So far, no one seems to have compared Chenyu to a drink or feminine hygiene product.
Remember the pink and red ombre suit that Elvin Ng wore to Star Awards 2021?
You know which suit we’re talking about — it was pretty much bleeding all over the internet in April as it got compared to everything from bandung to, um, a used tampon.
Well, it looks like stylists haven’t stopped putting their stars in the ensemble, which is from Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection (Hollywood star Kevin Hart also donned it for a photoshoot earlier this year).
On Tuesday (Sep 21), Chinese singer-songwriter Hua Chenyu, 31, attended the Mid-Autumn Festival Concert in the Greater Bay Area 2021 in the familiar gradient-dyed getup, only he paired his look with a mullet and diamond brooch.
Of course, it’s far from uncommon to see celebs sporting the same #OOTDs, with Elvin previously finding himself twinning with JJ Lin.
As far as we can tell, Chenyu has yet to be likened to any colourful drinks, desserts, or feminine hygiene products, with comments on social media largely focusing on how good he looked at the star-studded event.
However, there was some controversy over the quality of the performances.
According to reports, those who sang on stage were suspected of lip-syncing as the shape of their mouths “obviously” didn’t match the lyrics. For instance, Chinese singer Fan Chengcheng’s voice could still be heard even though his mouth was clearly closed.
The only person who actually seemed to be singing live during that performance was Chenyu, but while he’s usually known for his powerful vocals, netizens slammed him for his “awful” and “embarrassing” performance.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
