Ezra Miller, The Star Of The Flash, Fantastic Beasts Arrested In Hawaii For Disorderly Conduct And Harassment
Ezra Miller was arrested in Hawaii and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment.
Miller, 29, the star of the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning (Mar 28) following an incident at a bar in Hilo.
The Hawaii Police Department said in a statement: "Shortly after midnight on Monday, March 28, 2022, a 29-year-old man visiting from Vermont was arrested and charged for disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident at a bar in Hilo.
"On Sunday, March 27, at 11:30 p.m., South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of disorderly patron at a bar on Silva Street. During the course of their investigation, police determined that the man, later identified as Ezra Miller, became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke. Miller began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail."
After being arrested and charged for both offences, Miller was later released after providing the US$500 (S$680) bail term.
This isn't the first time Miller was caught misbehaving in public. In 2020, footage that appeared to show him choking a woman in a trendy bar in Iceland circulated online. According to Variety, Miller was confronted by a group of eager fans who were "quite pushy". So much so that the actor lost his cool at one fangirl. Miller was reportedly escorted off the premises by staff.
Miller will reprise the role of Credence Barebone in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which opens in Singapore cinemas on Apr 14. His next film, The Flash, where he plays the titular DC superhero, launches in June 2023. — BANG SHOWBIZ
