Her supposedly affordable accessories got a lot of attention as well.

Hongkong actress Jessica Hsuan is one of those relatively low-key stars who rarely shares pictures of themselves on social media. And we’re pretty sure it’s not ‘cos she’s self-conscious about her looks. Not that she has any reason to be, of course.

You see, unlike most other public figures who prefer to put their selfies through various photo-editing apps before posting them (hey, no judgement, we totally get it), the 51-year-old clearly has no qualms about letting the world see her unretouched, un-dolled-up — as far as we can tell, at least — face.

Just check out this selfie she put up on Instagram in September:

Over the weekend, the 51-year-old posted a wefie with two friends after enjoying a meal with them, gushing about how they had endless topics to chat about.

In the pic, Jessica appears to be wearing little to no make-up and has her hair completely tied back as she looks straight into the camera, giving everyone a very clear and full view of her face.

However, ‘cos this is the internet and there are people out there who just prefer to be overly critical, some media outlets described Jessica as having “slightly dull skin” and “a haggard appearance”.

On a more positive note, they also pointed out that she has barely any wrinkles around her eyes and “doesn’t look like someone who is over half-a-century old” (um, okay), but still, we’re wondering if we’re seeing the same photo ‘cos we think she’s glowing.

We suppose this is what happens when the world gets too used to seeing perfectly Photoshopped portraits.

Sharp-eyed netizens, on the other hand, decided to pay attention to her attire instead, specifically, the two necklaces around Jessica’s neck.

According to avid online shoppers (how else would they have recognised the accessories?), the one with the cross-shaped pendant retails for just 45 yuan (about S$10), while the one with a pink planet is priced at 600 yuan (S$130) or 1,040 yuan (S$220), depending on where you get it.

Of course, it’s possible that Jessica may have actually gotten her trinkets from more high-end retailers, but that didn’t stop folks from praising her for being so down-to-earth.
