Mark Wahlberg Not Impressed With Tom Holland’s Bartending Skills In Uncharted, Jokes That He Isn’t Good Enough To Work At Wahlburgers

Tom Holland has a knack for undercover assignments.

To prepare for his role as teenager Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the London-born actor then pulled a 21 Jump Street by ‘infiltrating’ a New York public high school.

For the just-released video-game inspired-action-adventure Uncharted, to get himself ready to play Nathan Drake, a thief whose day-job is a bartending, Holland spent some time mixing drinks in a bar — covertly.

According to the production notes, Holland went behind the bar at  Chiltern Firehouse in London but after a few shifts, his cover was blown and he was asked to leave.

Speaking to 8days.sg, Uncharted director Ruben Fleischer says he’s impressed with the mixologist skills Holland picked up from that brief deep cover stint during the lockdown. 

“He worked really, really hard prior to filming, training to do all those cool tricks,” quips Fleischer.  “So those scenes we can actually give credit to the shutdown for making sure he was as good as he was — that’s all Tom doing those stunts himself.”

However, Holland’s co-star Mark Wahlberg, who plays Drake’s mentor and partner-in-crime Victor 'Sully' Sullivan, isn’t as dazzled by his newly-acquired cocktail-shaker-shaking talent. Sure, Holland’s moves may wow the audience, it isn’t wow enough to land him a gig at  Wahlburgers, the restaurant chain Wahlberg co-owns with brothers Paul and Donnie.
