Moses Chan Reportedly Makes S$5.2Mil A Year At TVB, Is The Company’s Highest-Paid Actor

Hongkong media recently released a report that revealed who are TVB's five highest paid actors. It took a bit of investigative journalism, which believe it or not, started because they were trying to verify rumours that Ruco Chan had failed to negotiate a higher salary with the broadcaster.

Here are the stars who made that list.

1 of 5 No. 1: Moses Chan S$5.24mil

The actor has remained loyal to TVB for the past two decades, and that's even after many lucrative offers from broadcasters in China.

And as a reward for his loyalty, TVB reportedly pays Moses a whopping HK$30mil (S$5.24mil) a year. This excludes the income he earns from endorsement deals and any other job offers.

We guess that's how he can afford paying S$17K a month in rent.

2 of 5 No. 2: Kenneth Ma S$1.4mil

Coming in a not-so-close second place is 47-year-old Kenneth, whose popularity has skyrocketed in recent years.

His dramas The Exorcist’s Meter (2017) and Big White Duel (2019) were huge hits and his former girlfriend Jacqueline Wong’s cheating scandal only helped to boost his reputation as an all-round nice guy.

3 of 5 No. 3: Vincent Wong S$1.05mil

You would expect TVB’s golden boy to be at the top of the list but Vincent, 38, has been splitting his time between Hongkong and China and that could be the reason for his slightly lower pay grade.

  • 4 of 5 No. 4: Wayne Lai S$870k

The 57-year-old has been cutting down on his workload in recent years, which could be the reason for the TVB stalwart's fourth placing.

While Wayne’s TVB salary doesn't seem impressive compared to Moses, Hongkong media noted that the actor is still swimming in money.

According to the report, a large part of his income comes from attending events in China, and we all know how much those gigs pay.

  • 5 of 5 No. 4: Ruco Chan S$870k

Also in fourth place is Ruco. The 44-year-old hit the big time in 2016 when he won Best Actor at the TVB awards for A Fist Within Four Walls.

According to the report, Ruco tried to negotiate for a higher salary as his current contract will end this year, but those talks fell through. He’s since stepped forward to deny the claims and has said that he's being paid a “good amount”.

Interestingly, there are now rumours that TVB is reducing his screen time in his upcoming dramas Falling In Love With You During Childhood and Invisible Team. Makes you wonder if TVB is really sidelining him in favour of Vincent Wong.
