TVB Actress Crystal Fung Pursuing Master’s Degree At University Of Hong Kong, Fuels Speculation That She Plans To Leave TVB
Is TVB actress Crystal Fung leaving the Hongkong broadcaster? The media seems to think so.
Yesterday (Feb 22), the 28-year-old posted a snap of her laptop on Instagram Stories, revealing that she is currently studying for a Master’s degree at her alma mater University of Hong Kong (HKU).
She graduated with a Second Class Honors in Food & Nutritional Science in 2016. The following year, she joined TVB.
Speculation that she intends to make a career switch have been swirling since last July when she shared that she had passed the first level of the CFA exam, which is notoriously difficult.
The actress said she would continue to take the three-level exam, which is usually taken by those working in the economic sector.
She also has a degree in Food and Nutritional Science.
Crystal got her start in showbiz after winning the 2016 Miss Hong Kong pageant.
Though she quickly rose up the ranks, appearing in many hit dramas, and was even named Most Improved Actress at the TVB Anniversary Awards in 2018, her career has stalled in recent years.
Her last drama was 2021’s AI Romantic and she is rarely seen at TVB events.
Rumours claim she was placed in 'cold storage' by the company as she does not intend to renew her TVB contract.
