What To Expect At Heytea’s New Outlet At Clarke Quay, Besides One-For-One Bubble Tea

Unlike the first branch at Ion Orchard which only has three seats (for folks to rest on while waiting for their takeaway cups, mainly), this Clarke Quay outlet is much larger and boasts 28 seats, plus 12 standing tables for dining in. The café has a breezy “lighthouse” theme and an open bar that's snazzily christened the “Tea Geek”. Here, drinks will be blended and shaken for your viewing pleasure.

Speaking of drinks, besides the usual menu available at the Ion Orchard branch, there are also six alcoholic tea cocktails and two tipsy ice creams served at the Clarke Quay outfit, all presented in fancy glasses instead of the usual takeaway cups. Two of the boozy drinks are specifically made to combat Singapore’s humidity: The Royal Romance ($22; left in pic), which consists of vodka, rosemary, osmanthus oolong and fruits, plus the cognac-infused Scarlet Heart ($16; right in pic) with pineapple.

Try the Autumn Ashes ($16; left in pic), tequila with pineapple juice, topped with chilli padi for a spicy kick, or the Winter Solace ($18; right in pic), which includes wuliangye liquor, a Chinese baijiu made from maize and rice, with strawberries and blueberries.

While the Ion branch offers tea and salted egg-flavoured soft serve ice cream, Heytea Clarke Quay offers the more grown-up Singapore Sling ($5.50; right in pic) soft serve, inspired by the iconic cocktail and includes cherry brandy, gin and dragon fruit juice. Then there’s also the Guinness ($4.50; left in pic) sice cream, infused with the famous stout.

While the Ion outlet is open at regular hours from 10am – 10pm daily, this one located in party central is open from noon to 1am daily. Fab news for night owls.
