“Who Is Jolin Tsai?” Asks 14-Year-Old Daughter Of Taiwanese Host Betty Wu, Who Scored Tickets To The Pop Diva’s Concert
Do young people really only know Blackpink and BTS these days?
Well, if you're anything like Taiwanese host Betty Wu's 14-year-old daughter, then the answer is yes.
Can you imagine the shock on her face when her daughter asked her who Jolin is?
According to 58-year-old Betty, she's someone from the "Jonathan Lee era", which is basically the '80s. She managed to get tickets to Jolin Tsai's recent UGLY BEAUTY World Tour concert at the Taipei Arena through a friend.
Considering how it's been 10 years since Betty went to a concert of such scale, she decided to show off her tickets to her daughter, thinking that it would make her "envious".
Her daughter's response?
"Who is Jolin Tsai? I think I've heard of her before," the teen said nonchalantly.
Betty was left dumbfounded.
"Everyone really belongs to their own generation. In the end the only person who was envious was [my husband]," said Betty.
Does your kid know who Jolin Tsai is?
Apparently, Betty's daughter isn't the only young person who doesn't know who the pop diva is.
One netizen said: "My daughter also asked me who is Jolin Tsai."
But don't feel too bad for the singer, who is indisputably one of the biggest stars in Asian pop ever.
Many netizens have since expressed their outrage at the ignorance of the younger generation, including one netizen who shared: "I immediately went to ask my 12-year-old daughter, luckily, she knows Jolin Tsai."
