This October, fans of Studio Ghibli can look forward to an exhibition that celebrates the iconic films of the Japanese animation powerhouse.

Titled The World Of Studio Ghibli, the exhibition is one of the three anchors of ArtScience Museum's initiative, Year Of Extraordinary Women, which centres around women whose lives have influenced society.

The other two previous exhibits were Goddess: Brave. Bold. Beautiful in April and Frida Forever in May.

The World Of Studio Ghibli will run from Oct 4, 2024 to Feb 2, 2025. Dubbed one of ArtScience Museum’s “largest and most ambitious exhibitions to date”, it will feature large-scale interactive theatrical sets from across the Japanese animation powerhouse’s history.

Visitors can expect to be able to step into the enchanting worlds of iconic films such as My Neighbour Totoro, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.

“Studio Ghibli has created some of the most beloved and critically acclaimed animated films of all time. Their visually sumptuous films explore humanist topics like ecology and nature, and many feature diverse female characters who are strong, independent, complex, sensitively nuanced, and yet relatable,” said the vice-president of ArtScience Museum, Honor Harger.
