Godzilla Vs Kong sequel gets first teaser and official title

Legendary Pictures has just released the first teaser for its Godzilla Vs Kong sequel. Titled Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, the film will serve as a follow-up to the 2021 hit which grossed over US$$470 million (S$627.3 million) worldwide.
The 35-second teaser shows a new monster sitting on a throne in Hollow Earth as the camera pans out to reveal the skeletal remains of Godzilla and King Kong.
Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire will be released on Mar 15, 2024. It is the fifth film in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse – a franchise centred around King Kong and monster characters created by Toho Co, Ltd including Godzilla and Mothra.
Actors Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry will return for the sequel which will star Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens. Also returning to direct is Adam Wingard whose credits include 2016's Blair Witch and 2017's Death Note.
Back in August 2022, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros released the official synopsis of the movie:
"This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla Vs Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever."
